District Governor Usman Masud Khan and fellow Rotarians from Clubs in Rawalpindi and Islamabad gathered at the Charter Ceremony of Rotary Club of Rawalpindi Rawal Dist 3270, at Islamabad Club on the 24th of June’2010. Charter President Rtn. Mrs. Saleha Khaqan and Charter Secretary Rtn. M. Umer Shahid welcomed the guest of honor and fellow Rotarians.
The District Governor Mr.Usman Masud Khan was the honorable chief guest at the ceremony. Fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Islamabad Margalla, Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan, Rotary Club of Islamabad Cosmopolitan, Rotary Club of Rawalpindi, Rotary Club of Rawalpindi Rohtas, Rotary Club of Islamabad Green City and Rotary Club of Islamabad Downtown enlightened the ceremony with their kind presence.
“The expectations are very high and I see this club as a challenge for the rest of the clubs, the energy is high but there is still a long way to go”, said the DG Usman Masud Khan, addressing the ceremony. He also mentioned the fact that the team of RCRR had started its social facilitation campaigns even before the club was being chartered. The efforts of Rtn.Saleha Khaqan and Vice President Rtn.Khaqan Waheed Khawaja were greatly appreciated by the DG Usman Masud Khan and the representative of Rotary Club of Islamabad Margalla. A souvenir was presented to the dedicated couple by the DG.
The Charter President Rtn. Saleha Khaqan pledged her humble and sincere service to the club and to the society. She mentioned that the mission of her club is to ‘serve the health and education sector’ and that she and her team intend to serve “above” self.
