DG Saeed Shamsi inaugrates Deaf Reach Training Center Computer Lab

The Rotary Club of Lahore Midtown host co–sponsor is the proud partner with Family Education Services Foundation (FESF) in this Deaf Reach project. The project was inaugurated by District Governor Saeed Shamsi on 2nd June 2009.

This gift of 23 computers, multimedia projector, and accessories will facilitate Deaf Reach in providing academic and skills training assisting the Deaf to develop their gifts and talents, and to realize their full potential. Young deaf adults will be able to take their place in the community as viable citizens and serve as role models.

Empowering the deaf particularly deaf youth and deaf women will contribute to happier, healthier families and community. Contribute to achieving Millennium Development Goals of Eradicating Extreme Poverty by enabling the deaf youth to be gainfully employed and lead fulfilling lives.

The Computers and related equipment have being gifted to “Deaf Reach Training Center” through a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant. Sponsoring Clubs are The Rotary Club of Lahore Midtown (R.I. District – 3270 Pakistan and Afghanistan) and The Rotary Club of Topsfield, Boxford and Middleton (R.I. District – 7930 Massachusetts and Salem, New Hampshire, U.S.A). The total value of the grant is Rs. 770,000/-. The international contribution includes US$ 1,000/- raised for the project by the Association of Pakistani Physicians of New England (APPNE).

    Mr. Geary was kind enough to send me this link. I live in upstate New York, USA, and met Ari Noonari at a conference in Riyadh.

    I work at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, NY. American Sign Language is my field.

    Congratulations to you all on this achievement, and I join in expressing gratitude to the Rotary.

    Congratulations to you all on this achievement, I worked at the deaf Reach Center Lahore with Mr S.Maritn and started classes for deaf girls, Special Education(Deaf)is my field.I’ll happy to work for the center again if chance given.
