The well managed District Gift of Life (GOL) Seminar was managed by the Organizing Committee headed by Chairman GOL and Presidents of RC Lahore, RC Lahore Jinnah, and RC Lahore Mozang on 28th February, 2010 at Kabir Hall of RC Lahore. The Seminar was graced by DG Usman Masud Khan and attended by IPDG Shamsi, PDG Alavi, PDG Suhail, DGE Shehzad, PAGs, AGs, Rotarians, Rotaractors , IW members, and guests. A captivating stage management was performed by Dy. Governor Satwat. The hall mark of the Seminar were, a detailed account of GOL programme by the Chairman starting from its initiation in the world and in Pakistan, pictorial coverage of some of the children beneficiaries including the five recently returned from Bangalore after successful heart surgeries; a talk by Assistant Paediatric Surgeon Dr. Asim about surgeries taking place at Children Hospital, Lahore; an enthralling, persuasive, and charismatic speech by a Paediatric Surgeon Dr. Masood Sadiq on ‘Ethics in Medical Profession’; future vision of GOL programme by the DGE; and finally the passionate and inspirational remarks by the DG. By now about 200 Pakistani children have benefited from successful surgeries home and abroad. Three of the beneficiaries were invited with their parents namely, Ayesha from Lahore d/o a Primary School Headmaster operated at Trivandrum in January 2005; Younis from Muzafargarh s/o a labourer operated at New Delhi in September 2007; and Amina from Hafizabad d/o a Nursing Staff operated at Children Hospital, Lahore. The DG gave them gifts as a token of love and he awarded shields to the speakers and the organizing committee. DG announced that he had taken IPDG Shamsi and DGE Shehzad to create a fund at the District level to run this programme in a vigorous manner.
