Rtn Usman Masud Khan before a capacity crowd under lots of cheers and applause was installed as District Governor for Rotary International District 3270 for Pakistan and Afghnistan. Presidents from South were installed by District Governor Rtn Usman Masud Khan. This impressive Installation Ceremony was held at a newly opened huge Marquee Hall of Pearl Continental Hotel on 1st July 2009.
Besides Guests and well wishers of Rotary, Past District Governors in large numbers alongwith with future District Governors for newly constituted District 3271 and District 3272 also graced the occasion.
Internationally respected Retired Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan Rana Bhagwan Das was the chief guest for the occasion. He emphasized that he had only agreed to attend this function because of Rotary.
District Governor Usman Masud Khan in his inaugural speech as District Governor emphasized his team to belief in Power of POSITIVE ATTITUDE, SELF CONFIDENCE, FELLOWSHIP and COMMON VISION must be an adopted.
Besides elaborating the historic achievements of Rotary since its inception with one person and currently stood with 1.2 million members. Last years leaders were praised and stressed were made to believe that ‘The future of Rotary is in OUR HANDS’. Speech was ended by a prayer to make District 3270 a Great District.

It’s rather strange to note that the outgoing DG seems to have been completely ignored in the write-up as well as in photographs. The picture of the outgoing DG passing on the collar to the incumbent DG should have been the most prominent one but it’s conspicously missing altogether. Similarly, the IPDG’s photograph addressing the gathering has also not been posted. All this may not be intentional or by design but it certainly is not in good taste and in the real spirit of Rotary!
Shouldn’t the write-ups on important events be handled more professionally?

ROLL OF HONOUR
It is a very good idea to have a Roll of honour for remembering the past leaders but I would appreciate if their correct District numbers e.g 307 or 327 etc are written after their names as they were not Governors of District 3270.

Congrats DG. Usman on being installed as the last Governor of District 3270. Unfortunately after attending the 100th R.I. Convention in Birmingham United Kingdom, I am still not back home hence I missed the Installation ceremony which looks really good from the photographs.
You have created History with this unique idea of presenting a collar to all club Presidents in the District which was a real need as quite a few clubs in the District do not have it or have lost it and no Governor in the past ever thought about it. Wish you all the best for a very successful Rotary Year where I hope you will take District 3270 to new heights of success.
