Joe Sloan, Advisor to KESC (Karachi Electric Supply Corporation) Leadership was invited as a key note speaker at a joint meeting of Rotary Club of Karachi Defence and Rotary Club of Karachi Sea Shore on October 14, 2009 at Royal Rodale Club of Karachi.
Rtn. Shahbaz Ali Baig introduced Joe Sloan as a man of professional will and personal humility and a great asset to KESC. He stated that Joe Sloan is from the State of Tennessee, USA. He has vast global experience in the field of energy and utility management. He is working as an Advisor to the leadership of KESC.
Joe Sloan shared in his talk about his life adventures, global experience and his road to KESC. He stated that in his life he has given talks to numerous clubs such as Rotary, Lions, and Kiwanas but he never imagined giving a talk to Rotary Club in Pakistan and that he was pleased to speak to Rotarians here in Pakistan.
He enlightened the glorious gathering with his observations of issues addressing KESC and the various initiatives that the KESC management is working in order to resolve these issues. He also talked about examples of other publicly owned utility companies he has worked with globally and how he has faced similar challenges.
The speech was well received by the Rotarians, who appreciated the open and honest talk and the humble demeanor of Joe Sloan. A large gathering of Rotarians from both club attended this event.
