Polio Camps at Qayoomabad & Gulbehar

As per decision our club participated in the NIDs held during the month of December. The President approached PDG Aziz Memon to obtained Rotary giveaways items, e.g. Caps, T-Shirts, Pencils, Books, Badges. Arrangement were made to obtain vaccine which was difficult to get but with the help of PDG Haiy Khan who was kind enough to intervene with EBI and we were able to get the vaccines.

Assistance from IMHT School of Nursing was requested as Partners in Service, who provided vaccinators, with Four Male Student Nurses. Director Vocational Centre, was advised to make local arrangements and announcements from mosques and to nearby schools.


The camps were held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The centre arranged a student rally which went from lanes to lanes to bring children to the centre. The rallies were much appreciated by the residents, and created an impact, in the locality. 520 Children all together were given dozes,

Another camp was held at Qureshi School, where those children who were left out were given the dozes and Rotary giveaways were provided, to the children. The President addressed the children, and emphasized the importance of Polio, and read some portion from the book.

Following expense were accrued:
Panaflex Banner Rs.840.00 ( This can further be used in future )
Food for voluntaries Rs. 500.00
Stipend given to voluntaries Rs.3,000.00


Conclusion
The campaign covered those children who were missed out earlier. Besides it created a great impact on the neighborhood. The director has informed me that the union counsel was much impressed by our participation and has requested us to collaborate with them in future NIDs.
