Rotary Club of Dadu has arranged first Thalassemia soft screening camp in collaboration with Novartis Pharma Pakistan on 27 and 28 October 2009 at Civil Hospital Dadu.
361 patients were screened out of which 101 were found carrier of Thalassemia which is 22% of population. 38 samples were collected and sent to Baqai Medical University, Karachi for beta electrophoresis test to confirm the Thalassemia major and minor. Two cases were sent to Civil Hospital Karachi for their free treatment. Rotary Club of Dadu is collecting the Thalassemia major cases upto 150 and will try for their free treatment in Dadu.
