Rotary in Dadu – Actions speak louder than words

People in Dadu are now familiar with Rotary, thanks to a large number of activities and events organized by Rotarians.

Rtn. Sabhagchnd Matlani, Co-Chair South Environment, shares with us an impressive list of activities:

Iqrar Jamali of Johi was sent to Bangalore, India for a heart-related procedure called “Device Closure Surgery”. The surgery was facilitated by Dr Devi Shetty and Mani Laxmi, President of Health City, Bangalore.

During the year, 300 trees were distributed to various gardens, the district library as well as planted on the road-sides to help improve the environment.

Rotaract Club of Dadu started in Dadu City.

A permanent Polio camp was setup at the Rotary Office in Dadu with the help of Rotaractors, and a many polio camps and awareness campaigns were conducted throughout the year.

Health remained a high priority with Rotarians in Dadu. A number of general as well as skin disease camps were organized during the year by Rotary Club of Dadu and its Rotaract Club in the desert area of Dadu Taluka. Rtn. Sabhagchnd Matlani particularly notes and appreciates that these activities were entirely funded by the Rotarians and Rotaractors.

They are also in the process of publishing a hand-bill to generate environment awareness among the masses.
