In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Dear Presidents,
It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of a team which is fully motivated and raring to go. Insha Allah on the 1st of July 09, you will be taking over as the President of your respective club. I, as the District Governor, expect that all of us follow the cardinal points, the spirit of Rotary as enunciated as the “Four Way Test”. The initial steps we take will indicate the directions in which we are heading. I wish you best of luck and a joyous year. Indeed, “The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands”.
I take this opportunity to share with you an important information which has been discussed, threadbare during the District Assemblies at Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. Keeping in view the latest trends in inflation, the cost of paper, printing, mailing/courier charges etc., has gone up to a great extent. District Dues paid by the clubs are utilized for undertaking the jobs mentioned above.
There has been no increase in the District Dues since the year 2004. The prevalent rate of Rs.300/- is considered insufficient to undertake the multi faceted jobs. During the District Assemblies I had asked the participants to candidly express their views on this subject. The general consensus was to increase the District Dues to Rs.500/-.
I am grateful to the participants for appreciating the problems being faced but in order to alleviate undue burden on the members I have decided that the District Dues will be revised from Rs.300/- to Rs.350/- only.
Upon the insistence of all the participants, it was also decided that the club paying the District Dues up to 31st August 09 will be charged Rs.350/-, thereafter the District Dues will be Rs.500/-.
This facility will be strictly implemented. It is in the interest of your club to fulfill your obligations well in time, as The Future of Rotary is in your hands.

There is a little ambiguity in the above message. In one paragraph, it’s stated: ” …..I have decided that the District Dues will be revised from Rs. 300/= to Rs. 350/= only”.
But immediately after that, in the next para, it’s said that “… the clubs paying the dues upto 31st August, 09 will be charged Rs.350/=, thereafter the District Dues will be Rs.500/=.”
So what is the correct position: District Dues have been raised to
Rs. 500/= or to Rs.350/=?

To benefit the members all over the district, the district dues will remain Rs 350/- upto August 31st, 2009. From September 1, 2009, however, the district dues will be revised to Rs. 500/-, in light of the suggestions offered by Rotarians at the various District Assemblies.
By contributing before August 31st, 2009, each member will get a saving of Rs. 150.
