Dear Fellow Rotarians
It was a pleasure to see a gathering of exclusively 450 Ladies & young girls at a program organized by Rotary Club of Karachi Bay, Centennial, Defence, Gateway & Universal.
An awareness talk by prominent lady doctors about Women’s Health issues was arranged. Initiated by Dist Secretary Rear Admiral Tanveer Ahmed of Rotary Club of Karachi Bay, it was a great learning experience for lady Rotarians who were in the forefront helping to organize this great event. I am sure all will agree with me that organizing such a big event was no small task.
The programme was scheduled to start at 10am. The audience were seated by 9-50 am. The Chief Guest Mrs Ghazala Saleem, Vice President Pakistan Navy Women’s Association arrived 2 minutes before 10am. The program started at 10am sharp. After the Tilawat & Welcome address the speakers spoke about the subject with authority & the interest of the audience was evident by the questions which were put up at the Q&A session specially by the young girls.
After the the formalities of presentations, refreshments were served at 11-30am. As an old Rotarian what impressed me the most was the punctuality, discipline and the interest and desire to give and take on the part of the participants and the speakers.
Though the function was organized for the under-privileged sector of our society, the arrangements made for the conduct of the function and refreshments was superb. It would be unfair on my part if I don’t compliment Rtn Sabiha Khan of Rotary Club of Karachi Centennial for a wonderful presentation & Rtn Shamim Zaman of Rotary Club of Karachi Universal, Rtn Nighat Sadiq & Rtn Qamar of Rotary Club of Karachi Gateway for ensuring that the function is conducted in a professional way. I would also like to thank the two lady photographers Rtn Asma of Rotary Club of Karachi Bay and Rtn Hina of Rotary Club of Karachi Cosmopolitan who clicked away all the time to capture the images on their cameras. Lastly I would like to thank the Admiral for guiding and advising us all for the successful conduct of the function.

Thank you Rtn Tasneem for a good write up. I do not wish to take any credit for the function. The credit should be shared amongst the girls who conducted the fine show. It was a large gathering and the lectures were motivating and educative.
Its a very good initiative from your side,
I will really appreciate it ,if you not only organize these programmes in karachi but also in many places like the most in rural area’s where women rights are deadly ignored.
