Wreath laying at Quaid e Azam’s Mausoleum

District Governor 2009-2010 Rtn Usman Masud Khan started his Rotary Year by paying homage to the Father of the Nation known as Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah by laying a wreath at his Mausoleum on Wednesday 1st July 2009 at 10 am sharp.

PDG Abdul Haiy Khan, Future District Governors from South and North, Deputy Governor, Assistant Governors, Presidents of the Clubs, Rotarians, Rotractors and families of Rotarians despite being a working day joined the District Governor. Special arrangements were made and VVIP protocol reserved for State Dignitaries was provided to the District Governor and Rotarians for this ceremony.

Wreath was laid with Naval Commandant Captain Mazhar, Commanding Officer responsible for the protocol & security of the mausoleum in attendance. Homage was paid with recitation by the official clergy of the mausoleum. National Anthem was played after the sermon. Afterwards District Governor inscribed his comments in the visitor’s book. A unique visit to actual grave of the Father of the Nation took place which is at the basement and not open to general public.

The caretaker of the Mausoleum informed about the history of Mausoleum and later respects were paid to the other close associates of Father of Nation buried within the vicinity of mausoleum.

Museum was also visited where belongings and other allied historic items were on display. All the people gathered prayed for the prosperity of the country and wished the District Governor the best of luck in all his undertakings.
